Swim meet information for tomorrow
Hello Dolphins,
Tomorrow is our first swim meet at the Ed Issakson/Alpharetta Family YMCA. Please read all the information regarding tomorrow’s swim meet.
We are super excited for our first swim meet of the season. We have a lot of new families and swimmers. I wanted to provide all the information to make sure you are prepared for the meet tomorrow. Parents don't forget to bring chairs for your family to sit there is very limited seating. Swimmers do not need their own chair. Most of the time they will just bring an extra towel to put on the floor and they can sit on top of that in between their events.
Here's a quick checklist for what your swimmer should bring tomorrow:
- Two to three towels.
- Goggles
- Swim Cap
- Swimsuit
- Healthy snacks, water
- Warm clothes for in between events
This team will be providing a small concession stands cash only. They will be selling snack items, waters, Gatorades.
Address: 3655 Preston Ridge Road Alpharetta, GA 30005
Volunteer/ Swimmer check in: 3:00 PM
Dolphins Warm up: 3:15 PM
Swim meet will start: 4:00 PM
Once you arrive at the facility, all swimmers and volunteers will check in at our designated table. All swimmers will grab their events sheet. This we'll tell them what event, heat and lane they will be swimming. Parents, it is extremely important to arrive on time, especially for warmup. This gives all of the swimmers an opportunity to get familiar to the new environment. All volunteers from our team will receive a badge for the position they will be working. There will be a volunteer meeting prior to the start of the swim meet. We will have the time for the volunteers meeting at check in. It is important for all volunteers to attend this meeting to go over your role as a volunteer for this swim meet.
Before you arrive at the swim meet tomorrow there are a couple of things that need to be done prior to your arrival. To make tomorrow's check in a smooth experience. for all swimmers 12 and under. We are asking for their last name and age written in sharpies on their left shoulder. This makes it easier for volunteers to identify your swimmer. Also, Writing their events on their arm.
Please use the picture below for an example of what you need to write on your child's arm. You will draw a grid, at the top you will have three boxes that you will label E for event, H for heat, and L for lane. You can also write the name of the event next to the lane.
If for any reason your swimmer is unable to attend the swim meet you need to send an e-mail to Coach Phyllis as soon as possible. This is extremely important, especially if your swimmer is listed to swim in a relay. If your swimmer is in a relay and they do not show, there is a good chance the relay will not be able to swim, and the three other 3swimmers will not be able to swim.

Lastly, I have attached 2 documents to this e-mail. The first one is the athlete check-in report. This will have all of our athletes that will be attending the swim meet. Find your child's name and it will list all of their events. The second document is the heat sheet. This will have our team and the other teams' swimmers placed in their events. If you need help reading the heat sheet, please visit our website under the documents tab for more info.
See you at the pool!
