Championship meet info
Hello Dolphins,
We are extremely exited about the championship meet this weekend at Georgi Tech and we hope you are too. Please take a moment to read through this email regarding information this weekend and upcoming events.
Date and Venue:
- Date: Sunday, February 25, 2024
- Venue: The Georgia Tech Aquatic Center, 750 Ferst Dr. Atlanta, Georgia 30318
This meet is divided up into two session 10 and under in the morning, and 11 - up in the afternoon. Keep in mind if your swimmer has had a birthday after September 1, 2023 they will not age up they will stay in their current age group. Click on the links below to view athlete events sheet by age so you can confirm which session your swimmers is in.
Session Schedule:
We have also provided the times for what time the doors open in the morning, warm-ups, and the start of the competition. We strongly encourage to arrive on time to give your child enough time for warm-ups this is very important.
Session One (10 and under)
- Facility Opens: 7:45 am (The coaches will be located inside the front doors of the building at 7:45 am. You will hand off your children to them, and they will walk them down to our team area on the pool deck.)
- Warm-ups: 8:00 am
- Meet Starts: 9:15 am
Session Two (11 and up)
- Warm-ups: 12:30 pm (11 and up will walk themselves to team area after the end of session One.)
- Meet Start: 1:30 pm
Important Reminders:
- No parents (except volunteers and team parents) are allowed on the pool deck.
- Access to locker rooms for parents is only available in the upstairs dry locker rooms.
- Swimmers are allowed bag with essentials: towel, water bottle, caps, and goggles.
- Refer to the attached team layout map to guide your swimmer to the correct spot.
- Entrance and exit to the pool deck are from the spectator bleachers above.
Volunteer Opportunities: We are still in need of a few volunteers for both sessions. Please check the Volunteer Link provided and sign up for available slots.
Championship Meet Shirts: Pick up your pre-ordered championship meet shirts in the lobby where the parent spectator seats are located.
Heat Sheets: Attached to this email are the Heat Sheets for both sessions. You can also find them on the Meet Mobile App. In order to find the meet search for “YMCA of Metro Atlanta Championships 2023-2024"
Parking Information: Parking Link Pre-order your parking pass for discounts through the provided Parking Link. The Link may not be available for purchase yet so continue checking back for the available event link listed as "YMCA of Metro Atlanta."

Campus Map - Tech Parking Zones Map *Map from Georgia Tech Parking & Transportation’s Website. Unfortunately, the University does not create parking maps when roads will be closed for other events… THERE IS a Marathon that day so this WILL affect getting into the Aquatics Facility in a timely manner- please plan for this and see the list of road closures below.
Please see the attached map and the area I circled which is the closest to the CRC, which would be the most impact.
Some of North Avenue will be coned off, but traffic will still be able to travel in both directions.
For swimmer 10 and under we encourage you to write their event on their arm or leg and have their last name and age on there left shoulder blade to help volunteers identify them.
